About Me

I'm Salvatore, born in Sicily, in the shadow of an active volcano. I grew up fascinated by how things work: software, systems, people and organisations. That curiosity never really left me.

I studied Computer Engineering to understand technology, then Management Engineering to understand how people, processes and businesses turn it into value. That combination became the foundation of how I approach products: technically grounded, but always connected to people and outcomes.

I began my career at EOS Reply, a Reply Group company focused on automation and digital solutions. I first designed and developed RPA solutions to automate business processes, then moved into coordinating digital transformation initiatives as a Technical Project Manager.

One of the most important parts of that experience was learning how to bridge the gap between technical and functional teams. By understanding both perspectives, translating constraints and priorities, and creating clearer alignment, I helped reduce friction and accelerate delivery. That ability to connect different teams became one of the defining strengths of my professional profile.

I later joined Sense Reply, which specialises in IoT and the energy sector. Today, as a Technical Product Manager, I work on data and IoT initiatives for Terna, Italy's transmission system operator, and other energy organisations. I coordinate the development of data platforms and monitoring solutions, translating business and operational needs into product requirements and priorities.

I work closely with engineers to clarify technical constraints, evaluate trade-offs and shape solutions that are both valuable and feasible.

Across every role, I have naturally acted as a bridge between business and technology. What I have always cared about most is what ultimately gets built and delivered: does it solve a real problem, is it thoughtfully designed, and can people trust it? That focus confirmed that product management is where I can create the most value.

I am also productively lazy: when a process is repetitive, my first instinct is to automate it. That habit has saved significant time at work and says a lot about how I think: remove friction, simplify what can be simplified and focus energy where it creates the most value.

I played basketball from an early age and competed at a semi-professional level. It taught me to read situations quickly, stay composed under pressure and understand when to take the shot and when to make the pass.

My curiosity does not stop when I close my laptop. I constantly build side projects to test ideas and explore new technologies. One of them is SwishAI, an AI-powered basketball shot-tracking system that received a strong response on LinkedIn (Here the post). What I bring is simple: technical credibility with strategic clarity. I can work closely with engineers and understand the systems they are building, then connect technical possibilities with user needs and business goals. I genuinely enjoy operating at that intersection.
